A Sneak Peek – The Gift

In honor of the sale at Dreamspinner which ends July 31 at midnight, I wanted to give all my fans an advance sneak peek into The Gift which is releasing on August 10.  I got to have a lot of fun writing this story.  I have to confess that I’d been watching quite a few romantic movies when I was writing this story.  🙂  I really hope you like it.   Ember is a drop-dead gorgeous Las Vegas escort. He notices Alejandro in some of the classes he teaches at his side business—a yoga studio. Then, color-blind Alejandro further captures … Continued

Guest: Evie Collins – Fever and the Fox Book Blitz

Thanks for having me! My new book, Fever of the Fox, was an idea that sort of came to me through the characters. Growing up, I lived in an area that was essentially a melting pot of many different cultures, with friends from all sorts of different backgrounds. One on my closest grade-school friends was a Japanese-American girl whose house was like this amazing shrine to her parent’s homeland. I used to love going over there to play with her, especially outside in their beautiful garden. There was this cool little statue of a fox that I remember looking at … Continued

My Conference Odyssey – Close to the End

Hello from wonderful, energetic New York City.  I am nearing the end of my three week conference odyssey that started about three weeks ago in Munich.  I am at the RWA National Conference.  The previous conferences in Munich and Tampa were reader conventions.  This one is most definitely centered on craft.  I have met some amazing authors. I set next to Amelia Grey and near Patience Griffith at the literacy signing.  I got a signed book for my mother form Robyn Carr.  I have attended workshops on building sexual tension and writing Killer Romantic Suspense.  It’s been really awesome.  I’ve … Continued

Convention Odyssey – Stop 2

In the last week, I have travelled a lot.  The flight from Munich was long and I got to spend only part of a day with Dominic before heading to Baltimore to catch my flight to Tampa.  You all know that I love Dominic.  He’s the center of my life, but I am learning something with all this travel that I didn’t expect.  I need Dominic to keep me sane and from splitting into lots of little pieces.  At these conventions I am not alone and I am with people I care about and who take good care of me.  … Continued

The Convention Odyssey

I have been traveling for most of the week.  On Monday I was in Philadelphia staying with friends.  Tuesday I caught my flight to Munich and landed on Wednesday and spent much of the day and night dealing with jet lag.  Thursday I had arranged a tour of the castles Linderhoff and Neuschwanstein.  They were beautiful.  I have seen both of them before, but it was even better this time. The tickets were timed so there was no waiting in tons of lines.  I was with Elizabeth and Lynn from Dreamspinner.  There are some things you have to know.  The … Continued

Guest: A.L. Boyd – Where I Write – Crest Ridge Blog Tour

My writing area has recently changed. Originally, my space was a desk in the living room stuck between a big bookcase and the TV stand. I would write there while hubby watched TV. All of Crest Ridge Vacation, most of the expansion novella Crest Ridge, and most of Love on the Divide were all written in the middle of that living room. I wrote through the distractions for several years, until April 2014 happened and everything changed. That photo is the remains of my former house. Everything was gone, including my writing space, computers, and all my notes. From April … Continued

I’m On My Way

Happy Monday.  Today I am starting the convention part of my month.  This particular July is going to be hectic beyond belief.  However its also a great month if you’d like to meet me.  I am currently starting my trek which will end in Munich for Euro Pride Con this weekend.  If you’re in the area, we will be taking part in the Munich Pride parade and I believe the signing is open to the public. I return in a week and a few days later, fly to Tampa for Rainbowcon.  I will be there through the following weekend before … Continued

Guest Blog: LoveLight Press Launch Tour – E. Davies

Thank you for hosting me on your blog! It’s my first-ever guest blog post, so I’m glad for the opportunity to share a little more about me for the first time. I’m relatively new to the M/M publishing world, having only started to publish M/M erotica in 2013 and my first romance novel in 2014. I’ve written gay fiction for years, but I never thought others would be interested in reading it. It’s been an exciting new career! Today, I wanted to talk about the difficulties of writing characters who are billionaires. It may seem like a one-percent problem, but … Continued

The Death of My Car

Almost a week ago we got a bad storm and it knocked down the top of one of the trees between the sidewalk and the street.  I actually had a call into a tree service to come out to take a look at it, but mother nature had other ideas.  The crown of the tree broke of and landed on top of my car.  Needless to say my poor Mustang convertible went to car heaven.  The fire department came in and cleared away the tree and branches.  I called a towing company and they cleared away the car.  Everything was going smoothly. … Continued

Stories and Television

I was just watching a show about Filo Farnsworth and in case you don’t know, he’s the man who invented television and believe it or not, he never made a dime on it.  In essence this invention which for most of us is part of our daily life, was stolen him by the man who ran RCA.  It really pissed me off.  But it also got me thinking, I was watching the program about Farnsworth on a television, at least a descendant of the television he invented.  That got me thinking about how television has affected the stories we want … Continued
