Biochemistry the follow up to Organic Chemistry releases tonight at midnight. I love this story mainly because it touched something deep in my nerdy little heart. I absolutely love the idea of the nerdy, bookish kid catching the eye of the football quarterback. When I was in college I used to dream about catching a football nice, hot, dreamy football player of my very own Biochemistry is as close as I got. When his college biochemistry class turns out to be much more difficult than star quarterback Freddy Samuelson imagined, his lab partner, Kurt Maxwell, agrees to help. They’re very … Continued
Biochemistry, the follow up to Organic Chemistry releases October 9 so I thought I’d give you a sneak peek. Here’s an excerpt from the beginning of the story when Kurt first meets Freddie. Let’s just say that things start out a little rocky. This story is very much a nerd meets jock sort of story. As a once nerdy kid and still somewhat nerdy adult, this kind of story really appeals to me. I love the idea of the quiet brainiac actually catching the attention of the handsome jock and winning his affection. You’ll also get to spend a little more time … Continued
Tonight at midnight is the release of A Daring Ride. When I was writing this story I wanted to explore the idea of a double life to a degree. So at the beginning of the story Simon is in the closet about his bull riding to his family. He’s in the closet in other ways as well. Mom and dad own a Christian bookstore chain. Simon “Frizz” Frizzell sneaks away to the rodeo on weekends, and it’s not until after he wins a buckle that he tells his parents about his bull-riding. And so are some of his rodeo friends, like Dante and Ryan, and Jacky—a young man he wishes could have been more than a one-night stand. When Simon sets his sights on his dreams, he finds work with Dante and Ryan, and bumps into Jacky … Continued

There are times as a writer when you are hit by an idea that really knocks your socks off. When that happens, you get down on your knees and thank your lucky stars. Stranded was that kind of story for me.
Former model Brent Phillips now works the other side of the camera. He makes his money on senior portraits but wants to create an art exhibition. His only problems are lack of a central image and a three-week deadline.
Last October I was at a conference with a friend, Hope. I had finished a novel and was looking for an idea. At the conference I attended a seminar on storytelling and the leader quoted Henningway’s answer to the challenge to tell a story in as few words as possible. His response was “For sale, baby shoes, never worn.” I was fascinated with the idea and after talking it over with Hope the entire ride home, I began this story.
